Munich, November 12, 2010. hybridica 2010 comes to a close in Munich today with a total
of 130 exhibitors from seven countries and 5,500 visitors from 30 countries.
2,100 visitors registered for hybridica directly, and 3,400 came from
electronica, which took place at the same time. As a result, the International
Trade Fair for the Development and Manufacture of Hybrid Components has
strengthened its position in the industry. The wide range of exhibits and
extensive program of related events not only demonstrated new prospects for
innovative material composites along the entire value chain. It also shed light
on the market's latest trends and hot topics. Visitors were also convinced by
the superior quality of the presentations at the hybridica Forum, where
attendance was always high. This was revealed by the results of the visitor
survey. The theme day on hybrid lightweight solutions was one of the exhibition's
many highlights. Interest among exhibitors and visitors confirms that the trade fair for suppliers
and processing specialists has touched a nerve in the still relatively new
sector for hybrid technology. Norbert Bargmann, Deputy
CEO of Messe München GmbH, is very satisfied as the fair draws to a close.
"hybridica and its numerous exhibitors, especially from the southern
German region, has found its place in the trade-fair community. The
consistently positive response among visitors and exhibitors shows us that we
are on the right track and motivates us to expand the fair to include new
themes and new partners."
High marks from visitors The 2010 fair saw a slight increase in the number of visitors: A total
of 5,500 visitors from 30 countries attended the fair. Besides Germany, leading visitor countries included France, Italy,
Austria and Switzerland.
However, Eastern Europe was also well represented, with visitors from countries
including Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia.
The positive ratings in the 2010 visitor survey underscore the quality
of the event: 86 percent of the visitors gave the fair a positive overall
rating, and the program of related events received good ratings from 79 percent
of all visitors. 85 percent of the visitors
praised the presence of market leaders.
Future topic: Integrated
manufacturing One of the focal points of hybridica 2010 was sustainable and integrated
manufacturing. It not only guarantees the creation of additional value, but is
also cost-effective and reduces the use of materials and energy. Among other
things, this future-oriented topic was demonstrated in the "Glass
Production Line". Attendance at the hybridica Forum, which featured 28
lectures, was consistently high: Speakers shed light on the latest trends in
development and manufacturing. For example, presentations examined integrated
manufacturing of hybrid components from economical and ecological points of
view and introduced visitors to the energy-efficient production of hybrid
components.
Lightweight hybrid solutions The theme day on "Multimaterial Systems and Lightweight Hybrid
Solutions" on the first day of the fair was the highlight of this year's
exhibition. In his introduction, Professor Dr. Klaus Drechsler, Head of the SGL
Group Chair for Carbon Composites at the Technical University of Munich,
explained the potential that multimaterial solutions and hybrid concepts have
to offer, particularly when it comes to lightweight designs.
"Fiber-reinforced composite materials continue to increase in importance
because combining various materials like building blocks makes it possible to
integrate new functions and, at the same time, to reduce weight considerably.
Both the electromobility and aviation sectors are currently experimenting with
structural materials to be able to profit in the future from the synergies that
result from mixing fiber composites and metals."
Strong network hybridica 2010 also demonstrated that it is a strong network platform
for industry and research. Company clusters and networks such as INNONET
Kunststoff and ofraCar Automobilnetzwerk took advantage of the fair to hold
discussions with innovative partners. Gustav Naujoks, Chairman of the Board at ofraCar - Automobilnetzwerk
e.V., was positive about the outcome of the fair: "The companies that
participated here at the ofraCar joint exhibit are very satisfied with the
course of the fair. Participating gives these companies an opportunity to
present their technologies and discuss them with industry professionals both at
the stand and at the hybridica Forum. We have already identified some opportunities
for collaboration with new partners. Add to that the fact that the exhibiting
jointly as a network strengthens our exhibitors' overall image."
The next hybridica, which will be held at the
same time as the international trade fair electronica, takes place at the New
Munich Trade Fair Centre from November 13 – 16, 2012.
