Munich, November 9, 2010. The second hybridica opened in Munich today with 130 exhibitors
occupying some 10,000 square meters of exhibition space and a theme day titled
"Multimaterial
Systems and Lightweight Hybrid Solutions". The International Trade
Fair for the Development and Manufacture of Hybrid Components made of metal,
plastics and ceramics has established itself as a platform for companies that
specialize in the supply and processing of hybrid components. Besides technology
leaders, for the first time ever company clusters that specialize in hybrid
components will showcase themselves at this year's fair. Visitors can look
forward to highlights such as the Glass Production Line, the hybridica Forum
and the 3-D MID joint
exhibit. hybridica, which takes place at the same time as electronica, is being
held in Hall C1 of the New Munich
Trade Fair Centre until November 12. During a press conference on the opening day of the fair, Ellen Richter-Maierhofer, Exhibition Director
of hybridica, explained the significance of hybrid technology: "Hybrid
components that feature intelligent combinations of different materials with
different properties are becoming increasingly popular. Many companies have
already recognized the potential that these new technologies have to offer and
understand that there is no alternative when it comes to securing their ability
to compete in the future. We are very pleased about the broad-based support
that hybridica enjoys in the industry, which tells us that we chose the right
point in time to establish this fair."
Convincing know-how from a single source Attending hybridica is especially worthwhile
for those wanting to discuss innovations and new applications with experts, to establish
into partnerships or to collaborate with research organizations. System
suppliers who have material and production know-how involving more than one
material including special technological characteristics and manufacturing expertise
are in demand on the market. That is why a growing number of supply companies
in the electronics and automotive sectors are forming efficient networks to
bundle their expertise in the development and implementation of hybrid
components and to offer their consumers customized solutions from a single
source. hybridica serves as a platform for extensive networking by bringing
together experts from various branches of industry. At this year's fair, the INNONET
plastics network, which includes 36 companies in the sector for plastics
technology, and ofraCar, a network of Bavarian automotive suppliers, will demonstrate
the potential that these innovative clusters have to offer – and not just for
small and medium-sized companies.
The fair at a glance hybridica depicts the value chain in its entirety
and gives visitors a representative market overview in all sectors – from
materials and manufacturing to applications and recycling. An extensive program
of related events underscores the added value that the fair has to offer
visitors. On the first day, the fair kicks off with a special Theme Day on the
topic of lightweight hybrid design with presentations at the hybridica Forum and
a special show. On the next two days of the fair, the Forum features technical
lectures, Best Practice examples and presentations of integrated manufacturing
solutions. In addition, visitors can also experience a live demonstration of an
automation solution in the Glass Production Line. Finally, exhibitors at the 3-D
MID joint exhibit will be on hand to inform visitors about the potential that 3-D
molded interconnect devices have to offer.
